Our wooden items can be crafted from a variety of wood species to give you just the color you are looking for. Each piece of wood has its own unique coloring and grain patterns so no two pieces will ever be exactly alike. If you are looking for a specific wood type that is not listed, please contact us.

Our cutting board designs are inlaid rather than etched, carved or painted. This creates a safer food prep surface because the cutting surface is smooth and will not harbor bacteria when properly cleaned and cared for. We suggest that you use the back side of your board for cutting and the front side to display. Feet can be added to your board if you prefer. All Chicago Custom Craft cutting boards are made from food safe materials.

How should you care for your new wooden trivet or cutting board? Your trivet arrives to you treated with mineral oil. To maintain the color and prevent the wood from drying out, reoil periodically. Your cutting board has been treated with food safe mineral oil and our own ‘Board Butter,’ a mixture of beeswax and FDA approved mineral oil. Wipe your cutting board clean after each use, reapplying a wood conditioner as needed. For best results, do not submerge your cutting board in water.
